April 2/07: Announcing new “What’s New” feature on your ELMS Home page (click for more)

Announcing a new “What’s New” module on your ELMS page (the page that displays after you log in to ELMS).  “What’s New” conveniently lists the latest additions to your ELMS courses, such as new content files, discussion postings, email, calendar entries, etc.

April 2/07, Horizon Wimba Live Classroom to be Launched in ELMS

OIT, Learning Technologies is pleased to announce the launching of Horizon Wimba Live Classroom in ELMS, powered by Blackboard.

Starting from April 2, faculty can add Horizon Wimba Live Classroom to their Blackboard course space to make their online course more interactive.

Horizon Wimba is a real-time virtual classroom environment designed for distance education and collaboration. Horizon Wimba Live Classroom Building Block allows faculty to create fully-featured live virtual classrooms in a content area in Blackboard. It supports audio, video, application sharing, content display, and whiteboarding. Faculty can now use this environment to hold live, online classes, office hours, guest lectures, and meetings in Blackboard.

Training materials are available under the Training tab on http://elms.umd.edu.
