How will I get assistance?
The Office of Information Technology Academic Support group will provide support for ELMS. You can email elms@umd.edu to receive answers to your questions. Should you prefer assistance over the phone, you can call the OIT Help Desk at 301-405-1500 and you will be routed to the appropriate person depending on your question.
Besides email and phone, a number of resources will be available to provide assistance:
- The Academic Support group in OIT will continue to provide consultation & training for both pedagogical as well as technical needs.
- Training and reference materials are available under the Faculty Resources tab on the elms.umd.edu.
- An email list to announce important events, notify of training and provide helpful information related to ELMS will be established. Announcements are also posted at elms.umd.edu.
- Collaborative groups may also be formed to communicate via email lists, discussion boards or the like. This way, those using the system for teaching on a day-to-day basis may provide assistance and tips to one another.
